Illesha Leafpaw was a Shado-pan monk. She mostly focused on training younglings, and helping troubled souls find peace.
And, when the champions of the Alliance and Horde came to Pandaria, Illesha had a lot of people to take care of. She soothed them with her magic, brews, and meditation practices.
A few of her patients enjoyed it in the monastery, and decided to become monks. She gladly trained them, teaching them how to use her teachings in combat. One of her favorite students was the worn-down draenei paladin—Xaerys.
After Pandaria, Illesha decided to spend some time in Stormwind with Xaerys to learn more about the other cultures of Azeroth. She even traveled to the alternate version of Draenor with him. And, a few years later, the two of them helped battle the Legion on the Broken Shore.
Unfortunately, that battle was where Illesha met her end. All around her, people were getting hurt. She focused primarily on healing them, and trying to have as little deaths as possible.
Until a wrathguard came up from behind her, and impaled her with his sword.
Shortly after the battle, the Knights of the Ebon Blade came to Broken Shore, in search of new death knights.
They found Illesha.
