For today’s drawing, I drew Super Sonic!

Today, I drew Sage, Eggman’s AI daughter from Sonic Frontiers. Of the characters that were introduced to the franchise in the last ten years, I’d say she’s my second favorite (I talked about my favorite newer Sonic character yesterday)! Sonic Frontiers is very important to me, because it was the game that kicked off my current Sonic phase. I think it’s cool that they’re including Sage in other Sonic media, like the IDW comics and Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. I find a lot of her rival dialogue in Crossworlds very funny!

I know I’ve already drawn him a couple times this month, but this is Infinite’s dedicated day on the prompt list. So, I’ll talk about him a little bit more here.
He’s my favorite Sonic character! Considering I was obsessed with a certain demon hunter for seven years, it isn’t very surprising that I would get all excited, playing Sonic Forces for the first time, and seeing a character who’s so similar in so many ways. Both are very angry, vengeful, and put themselves through crazy stuff to get power, ultimately because they felt like they weren’t enough. The huge difference is that Illidan uses his darkness to try to save the world, while Infinite uses his to try to destroy it.
Obviously, the Illidan comparison is a big reason why I got so attached to Infinite. I joke about it all the time. But he has his own things going for him, too. His powers are awesome. He’s got possibly my favorite character design ever. And his insecurity is more obvious than Illidan’s. You can see how hard he’s trying to be edgy and dramatic, and I just find it very amusing. He’s so dramatic, and I love him! Oh, and another thing he has that Illidan doesn’t is that he’s actually relevant to the story again, which is very exciting!

Today, I drew Metal Sonic. I don’t draw regular Metal Sonic super often—but I do draw him as Neo Metal Sonic (his more powerful form) a lot. He’s my second favorite Sonic villain, and he’s very fun to draw!

My theme for today was Favorite Level. And I specifically wanted to do my favorite not boss fight level. After I added that prompt to my list, I had to think for a moment “What is my favorite Sonic level?”, because there are so many that I enjoy. After a little bit of consideration, I concluded that it’s probably Capital City from Sonic Forces. I like it because it’s an important point of the game’s story—specifically, your custom hero’s story. The Resistance is launching a massive counterattack on Eggman’s forces, but Infinite shows up, and basically makes the whole plan fall apart. The whole city’s all messed up by his illusions, and the Resistance is being picked off. But, at the end of the level, your hero reaches Infinite, and then they have to face their fears, and fight him, because they have no other choice. It’s really good! Even though the Infinite boss fight after this level is very hard, because I can’t stop standing in the red cubes of death. As a World of Warcraft player, who does dungeons and raids sometimes, I often joke that I have a tendency of “standing in the fire” during all three of the Infinite fights.
On this drawing, I drew my Sonic OC, Raven, again. She’s got her Lightning Wispon out (because that’s my favorite weapon in the game). And I had to include one of those freaky Infinite-snake things, because they’re everywhere in this level. I often call them the “Spaghetti Monsters”, because, if last Sonictober didn’t make that clear enough, I sometimes get rather hyper while playing especially this game.

Today, I drew Sonic and Tails on their plane, the Tornado. I was in the mood to do a full-color illustration today. It turned out really nice!

Today, I drew my main Sonic OC, Raven the Cat. I’ve drawn her before. She’s the avatar I always create whenever I replay Sonic Forces.
I’m still in the process of developing her story and personality. She’s very friendly, but also very tough and feisty. She also has a traumatic backstory. In Sonic Forces, your avatar is given a backstory where they’re a soldier for the Resistance, and Infinite killed their entire group, except for the avatar. To bring Raven’s backstory a step further, I decided that her older brother was one of those soldiers who died. So, she’s definitely not a fan of Infinite. She wants revenge on him.
And, after Sonic Forces, I imagine she’s going around, helping people recover from the war. She also spends time with her parents to make sure they’re alright, and to honor her brother. Nowadays, she’s definitely in a better place. She still has trauma, but it’s become more manageable.

Today’s theme is my favorite Sonic game. So, of course, I did a drawing inspired by Sonic Forces. I’ve played this game seven or eight times now, I believe. It’s just really fun! The combination of the dramatic overarching story and the silly, chaotic moments is a big reason why I love the series as a whole, and, in my opinion, Sonic Forces balances those two things very well. And it’s Infinite’s first appearance, and I’ve mentioned many times before that I love Infinite.
I really enjoy the custom character, too, because I love coming up with OCs to put in the universes I enjoy—though I’m sure that was already obvious from my ongoing World of Warcraft webcomic, Fel and Blades.
Also, speaking of OCs, spoiler alert: tomorrow’s theme is OC, so I’m going to draw my Sonic Forces avatar that I’ve recreated for almost all of my playthroughs—except for one, where I decided to make my avatar look like the red wolf that Sega puts on all the promotional material for the game.

Today’s theme is Chaotix Casefiles. I really enjoyed the audio drama! Obviously, for me, the highlight was Infinite’s return!
For today’s drawing, I illustrated a moment in episode seven that always makes me laugh. Vector points out an inconsistency in Infinite’s evil plan, and this is his response. It’s even better when you actually listen to it, and hear the absolute disgust in his voice.

My theme today was Chao Garden, so of course, my mind immediately went to Sonic Adventure 2, because I’m still playing around with that Chao Garden, despite having beaten the game around a year ago.
I also wanted to do a slightly Halloween-themed drawing, so I drew Rouge the Bat holding a Chao wearing the pumpkin mask.
